Besides, the rear camera isn’t bad either. From amazing panoramic shots to hyperlapse videos — it can do them all. However, these are specs that we all know about. If you want to get the most out of your phone cameras, the secret lies in the hidden camera settings and modes. Hence, we have hand-picked the best camera tips and tricks for the Samsung Galaxy A8+. Let’s see how they work.
1. Adjust the Background Blur
One of the highlights of the Galaxy A8+ is the dual front camera. As we mentioned above, this setup lets you snap awesome pictures with the bokeh effect. But is that all the phone is capable of? Of course not! Similar to the Galaxy Note8’s camera, you can adjust the background blur much later after you have clicked the picture. Just head over to Gallery, open the image and tap on the Adjust Background Blur option. Just slide the slider as per your preference.
2. Tap Screen to Take Selfies
Let’s admit it, at times, the selfie button can be difficult to reach and pressing the volume button doesn’t always produce great pictures. For one, you might end up with blurred images. If you’re familiar with the above drill, trust the selfie shortcuts to take care of it. Head over to Settings > Front Camera and tap on the card that says Shooting methods. Once in, tap on the option that says Tap screen. Once enabled, all you need to do is to tap on the screen and your moment will be captured instantly.
3. Swipe to Switch the Camera
When it comes to the camera interface, I absolutely admire Samsung phones. The ease with which you can flip through the multiple camera modes and filters makes it great to operate it with a single hand. Instead of reaching out to the various icons, all you need to do is a swipe. Swipe up for the front camera, whereas a left swipe will lead you to the camera modes.
4. Time for Wefies
If you have a huge group of friends, it’s a little difficult to fit them all in a single selfie. That’s when the Wide Selfies feature aka Wefies of the Galaxy A8+ comes in handy. It takes three shots together. All you need to do is tap on the mode that says Wide Selfie and hit the shutter button. Gently swivel the camera in both the directions and you’ll end up with a perfect panoramic selfie.
5. Catch the Minute Details With Food Mode
I discovered the awesomeness of the Food mode while I was using the Samsung Galaxy S8. Since then, it’s one of my go-to modes whenever a Samsung phone lands on my lap. The good thing about it is that the mode works equally great for non-food items as well. It catches the minute details of your subjects and gives a rich tone to the picture. So, the next time you want to capture an object with all the details, just swipe right, select Food, adjust the area of your focus and click away.
6. Add a Camera Mode Shortcut
If you love the camera modes just as I do, how about adding a shortcut to the home screen? Yes, the Galaxy A8+ comes with a nifty solution to add your favorite modes so that you can reach them quickly. Swipe left to go the camera modes, tap on the three-dot menu and tap on the Add shortcut on home screen option. Simple!
7. Use the Stickers!
Stickers and live filters are the talk of the town and the Galaxy A8+ has also jumped aboard this bandwagon. From goofy cat ears to ridiculous head gears — you can try them all. These stickers work with both the rear and the front camera. All you need to do is tap on the Stickers icon at the lower-right corner and experiment with many different looks.
8. Create Funny GIFs
If you have used Samsung phones previously, you might already know about the additional camera modes. All you need to do is tap on the Plus icon and tap on the download button.
One such mode is the Animated GIF mode. As you might have guessed this mode creates GIFs from the pictures you click. So, the next time you see your friend acting funny, just tap on the mode and hit the shutter button.
9. Video Stabilization
Worried about wobbly videos? That’s when the built-in video stabilization would come handy. This feature corrects wobbles in videos shot through the rear camera in real time. Video Stabilization can be found under the Common section in the Settings menu.
