The methods mentioned here involve using an official app from Apple, creating a VCF file, and using Google Contacts. Do check all of them and see which one you find easy to use. Let’s get started.
Method 1: Use Move to iOS App
One of the easiest ways to move contacts (and other data such as messages, apps, etc.) from any Android phone to iPhone is using the ‘Move to iOS’ service. This method helps in moving the contacts automatically from Samsung to iPhone. Move to iOS is a free app available for Android phones. You just need to download the app on your Samsung phone and follow the on-screen instructions. The only drawback of this method is that no iOS app is available. You can use this method on your iPhone only when setting up a new iOS device. It shows up when you set up your new iPhone from scratch. In case you have already set up your iPhone, you can either reset the iPhone or check other methods mentioned below. You also need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. However, if your iPhone is yet to be set up, this method will come in handy. Here’s how to go about it. Step 1: Download the Move to iOS app on your Android phone from the link given below. Download Move to iOS App Step 2: Turn on your iPhone and begin the set-up process. Follow the on-screen instructions. When you reach the Apps & data screen, tap on the ‘Move data from Android’ option. Step 3: Open the Move to iOS app on your Android phone and follow the on-screen instructions. You will be shown a ten or six-digit code on your iPhone. Enter that on your Android phone to establish a connection. Step 4: On the Data transfer screen, make sure the Contacts option is selected. Wait for the transfer to take place. You will find the contacts in the Contacts app. Do check our detailed guide on how to move from an Android phone to an iPhone using the Move to iOS app. Fix: If this method doesn’t work, check out various ways to fix the problem of unable to move contacts using the Move to iOS app.
Method 2: Export Contacts as VCF File
Another simple way to move contacts is by creating a VCF file and then adding it to your iPhone. Here are the steps: Step 1: Launch the Samsung Contacts app on your phone. Tap on the three-bar icon at the top to open the sidebar. Step 2: Now, two cases arise. You can either move the contacts stored in the Samsung Cloud or move all the contacts on your phone, such as internal storage, Google account, Samsung Cloud, etc. Tap on the All contacts option at the top in the sidebar. Select the Samsung account from the list if you want to move only the Samsung Cloud contacts. Alternatively, select All contacts. Tip: Find out how to create contact groups on Samsung phones. Step 3: Go back to the home screen of the Contacts app. Touch and hold any one of the contacts to select it. Then tap on the All option at the top to select all the contacts. Step 4: Tap on the Share button at the bottom. It will create a VCF file that you need to send to your iPhone. You can either email it or send it via messaging apps such as Telegram, WhatsApp, etc. Select the app to send to the iPhone. Step 5: On your iPhone, open the app where you sent the VCF file. Let’s say I sent it through Telegram. Tap on the VCF file to download it on your iPhone. Then tap or open the file. You will be shown one of the contacts. Tap on the Share icon. Select the Contacts app from the Share Sheet. That will save all your contacts sent from Samsung to iPhone. Open the Contacts app, and you shall see your new contacts.
Method 3: Import VCF File From iCloud on PC
You can also import the VCF file through iCloud on PC. Here are the steps: Step 1: Export the VCF file from the Samsung phone, as shown in method 3 above. Then email it to yourself and download the VCF file on your computer. Step 2: Open iCloud.com and log in with your Apple ID. Click on Contacts. Step 3: Click on the Settings icon at the bottom-left corner. Select Import vCard. Then choose the VCF file that you downloaded in step 1. Step 4: On your iPhone, open Settings. Tap on your name at the top. Step 5: Tap on iCloud. Enable the toggle next to Contacts. That will sync the contacts saved in iCloud to your iPhone.
Method 4: Use Google Contacts
In this method, we will be taking the help of Google Contacts. Since Google Contacts work on both Android and iPhone, it’s an easy way to transfer contacts. First, you will need to transfer your Samsung contacts to the Google account. Then use the same Google account on your iPhone. We have covered three ways to move Samsung Contacts to Google Contacts. Do check out our other post first. Once your Samsung Contacts are safely established in Google Contacts, open Settings on your iPhone. Go to Contacts and tap on Accounts. Tap on Add Account and add your Gmail account where you saved your Samsung Contacts. Once added, come back to the Settings > Contacts > Accounts screen. Tap on Gmail. Enable the toggle next to Contacts. That will sync all your Google contacts to your iPhone.
