Infogr.am
Among the popular platforms for creating infographics across the web, Infogr.am clearly stands out as the most accessible and easy to use. Once you register for a free account (a PRO paid plan is also available and offers additional features), you can start creating infographics immediately, choosing from templates that are ready to use. Piktochart
With more than 300,000 users, Piktochart is a great new service for creating your own infographics online. After you create a free account, you can start creating your own infographic right away by choosing from among different themes (several more themes are available for pro members). What sets Piktochart apart for me, though, is the plethora of editing options that it offers. The service has a wide variety of elements that you can add to your infographics, which in turn are divided into different major fields, like education, entertainment, people and more. Additionally, Piktochart also offers quite a few options for editing the layout of your infographics, including the ability to add, remove or duplicate blocks, adjust the layout overall size, rotate separate blocks among others. Also nice to have is the ability to export your infographics as images or to directly publish them as HTML files.
Easelly
Touted as a tool to create and share ideas online, Easelly offers a great service for creating infographics. The variety of templates it provides users is quite extensive and its customization tools are just as varied as the ones offered by Infogr.am. Text and other fields can be easily customized and repositioned, and different objects can be used to personalize your infographics. Sadly though, I couldn’t find any way to upload or use Excel data on Easelly in any way, which means that all infographics from this service are limited to text and graphs. Not that it is a bad thing, but this omission in its otherwise excellent creation tool definitely leaves you wanting for more options. On the bright side, you are allowed to use Easelly not only completely free of charge, but you won’t even need to create an account for it. There you go. All these online tools work great in their own way and each has its own pros and cons. Make sure to try both and choose the one that you like better.
