Running on Android Nougat 7.0  with the stock Android feel, there are a lot of cool features that can prove to be useful for a user’s day-to-day use. And what’s best is that we have handpicked the coolest ten features for you in this article

1. Schedule the Do Not Disturb Mode

Ever disturbed by the message pings in the middle of the night? Well, with the Moto G5 Plus you can set the downtimes as per your schedule. There are three modes to choose from  — weekend, weeknight and event. And if you want a more customizable down time, you can opt to make a rule of your own. What’s more? The G5 Plus also allows you to decide if a particular mode is important enough to override the morning alarm.

2. Lift To Stop the Ringing

I was once part of a meeting where one of my colleague’s phone started blaring. Out of sheer nervousness, the poor bloke couldn’t find the right button to silence it. Well, this could happen to any of us. But then, what good is a phone if it doesn’t give you the solution in a jiffy? The ‘Pick up to stop ringing’ feature of the Moto G5 Plus does just that. All you have to do is enable the settings and the next time the phone rings, just lift it up to silence it. Kind of cool, if you ask me.

3. Enable the Adaptable Storage

The most heartbreaking message in any smartphone is the one informing about ‘low internal storage’, which means you have to let go of apps, pictures, etc. So the next time you see the same old message, don’t despair. However, make sure that the memory card is a high-speed class 10 SD card or else, it would result in your phone slowing down.

4. One Button to Do it All

One of the highlights of the Moto G5 Plus is the one button navigation. Not only does it mean that you have one button to accomplish most of the tasks but you also get a bigger screen size sans the navigations bar. Using this mode, you can lock the screen, bring up the Google Assistant, jump back a couple of pages or swipe to bring up the ‘recent’ apps menu. To enable this feature head over to the Moto app > Actions and enable the One-button nav feature. And in the process bid farewell to the To enable this feature head over to the Moto app > Actions and enable the One-button nav feature. And in the process bid farewell to the onscreen software buttons.

5. Customize Notifications

Another one of the cool features of the Moto G5 Plus is the display settings in the Moto app. When enabled, this feature lets you check notifications, time and battery level without fully waking up the device. In addition to that, it also lets you block notifications and customise the amount of content shown in the notifications.

6. One-Handed Mode

With its 5.2-inch display, the Moto G5 Plus is surely a ‘handy’ phone as it feels good in the hands. However, that didn’t deter the makers from providing users with a one-handed mode a.k.a the Swipe to shrink screen. For those of us who crave for a smaller screen, it can be easily achieved through the Moto App. Once it’s enabled from within the app, it can be turned-on by simply swiping up, left or right on the screen and the screen will be small screen will be displayed depending on which direction you swipe. There’s a catch, though. For this to work, the one button navigation has to be disabled.

7. Launch Camera Faster

So how fast do you need access to the built-in camera app? As fast as The Flash? If yes, I guarantee that the twist feature will be your personal favorite. All you need to do is twist your phone to launch the camera and bam; you are ready to click away. Another noteworthy feature of the camera is the focus lock which, as the name suggests, lets you lock focus on an object even if it moves. To enable it long-press on the screen until you see a small padlock appear on the screen.

8. Turn the Flash Light in a Flash

Another gimmick of the Moto G5 Plus is switching on the torch in a jiffy. All you have to do is flip your wrist (or do the karate chop) twice. And a similar action will turn it off again.

9. Tweak the System UI Tuner

Unlike few devices (like the OnePlus 3) which strip the System UI tuner, thankfully the Moto G5 Plus hasn’t pulled any such stunts. The System UI tuner lets you tweak certain features like the Status bar, do not disturb mode or the power notification controls. What’s more? You can enable the split-screen mode simply by swiping up from the ‘recent’ apps button. Just in case the system UI tuner isn’t visible on the settings menu, tap on the ‘Settings’ icon (in the notification drawer) for a few seconds till you see the message “Congrats! System UI Tuner has been added to Settings”.

10. Enhanced Sim Tray

The G5 Plus’s SIM tray can be called as best of three worlds if at all such a term exist. The G5 Plus sports a tad enhanced version of the SIM Tray — it holds two SIM cards and a memory card together. Unlike most of the other Hybrid SIM card holder which lets you pick either 2 SIM cards or a sim card and a memory card, this gives others a run for their money.
